Dog Bite

Monday morning we left for Longview to see my sister Heather and her kids. Their house is always filled with animals. Zachary of course just loves it except  for this time... One of her food aggressive dogs bit Zachary in the face. The kids were not supposed to let the dogs in, but when we woke up that morning it was cold and raining so they felt bad for the dog. It would have been ok until they got food out. Zachary just happened to be on the tail end of the catastrophe.

It bled really bad really quickly and I was super afraid it was his eyeball. Luckily it wasn't

Off to the ER we went just to make sure everything was okay. He had a pretty good gash right under the eye. The dog also punctured his upper lip really good. So blood seemed to come from everywhere.

The doctors felt it was best to stitch it up since it was so close to the eye. He of course wouldn't be able to sit still with a needle coming towards his eye. So they had to do a conscious sedation. Lights were on, but nobody was home..

This is right after they got done. He has 5 stitches. The doctor also got to look at his mouth a bit better and decided it didn't need stitches should heal fine by itself. Took him about an hour to come out of it. Right as soon as he was starting to come out of it he ended up throwing up. There wasn't anything on his stomach as we had just got up that morning when it happened.

We decided to end our trip short and come home. It definitely wiped him out.

This is later on in the day looks pretty good.

He wanted me to get a really close shot so he could see how many stitches he had.

Eye is puffy and has blackened. Lip is still really puffy, but not too much pain luckily. He told me this morning that the medicine really scared him. He said when he woke up from dreaming I had 4 eyes. I see a few weeks of no sleep in our future.... No worries though he is being thoroughly coddled.

Ho, Ho, Ho....Merry Christmas!

Lucas has really gotten good at saying Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas! He didn't say Merry Christmas in this one, but it was cute with both of them.

Santa visit

I really can't believe that the mall santa costs $20 bucks! So I googled Santa photos and found out that they have one in Old Town Springs like right around the corner for $5 bucks! So we decided to pick up Alyson and take her with us to see Santa. When we got there we found out that if you brought your own camera then it was only $2 bucks. Oh yeah thanks Santa!

Waiting our turn to get in. Lucas was saying Santa everytime he got a glimpse of him.

As you can see that Zachary was in a mood even though in the car he was very excited to sit in Santa's lap and tell him what he wants for Christmas

Once we got in there Lucas wasn't really sure so Jason sat next to Santa with Lucas in his lap.

Zachary did not want to even get close to him! Much less sit in his lap! So the first couple of pictures were without him.

Right as soon as we were about to leave he turned to me and said "I'll sit up there, but not in his lap." Ha. Good Times. Good Times.
 Homemade goodness

I made this for Zachary's teacher, Mrs. Nakasato, for Christmas. I put it in a shadow box and put her name below the letter. Zachary drew her a picture and signed it. So I stuck in on the back with a school picture on it. He was really excited to give it to her. I forgot to get a finished picture of it, but atleast I got one.

There is the cutest morning Disney show called Timmy Time. Lucas just loves it so I got the idea to crochet him a doll to put in his stocking.

This is Timmy from the show. I thought I did a pretty good job?

Putting up the Christmas tree

I love that Zachary is into putting the decorations up so I'm not doing it all by myself anymore! It was fun to get it all back out and seeing the reaction from Zachary on everything I pulled out....

When Zachary saw his stocking he of course put it on like a sock

Everybody needs some decoration

Yeah Christmas!

Taking the tree for a ride

Loved the lights before they got on the tree

Had to taste it atleast once

Zachary helping put the top on

Everybody had to be on the chair with me

The finished product except we forgot to take one without a flash.

I crocheted the snowflakes to go on the tree and I have to say it looks nice.

Trainmaster

I seriously am behind on my posts so I'm going to do a post over load just to catch up. Lucas really has taken to playing with the train as of late. He says choo-choo over and over again.

Even figured out he could put it back together

This is what happens to it after about 20 mins or so

And this is what all that cuteness does to my laptop when I walk away with it open...

Festival of Lights

Every year in Galveston they have The Festival of Lights. I've never been before partly because it is an hour and a half drive one way, but this year I just wanted a little extra cheer. That and Zachary loves lights as much as I do. They were equally excited since their Nana got to come along. We had a good time.

A bunch of Nutcrackers...us included..

Zachary attempting to do the same pose....

One camera loving boy and one who would rather be left alone..

The paddle wheel boat on the water with the big ole tree in the distance..

Some of these really were huge..

Family togetherness....

It was a 1 mile lighted walk and the weather was great!

Zachary thought the castle was cool and wanted to know if we could put one on our house...

The toy factory...if only presents were really free

Digging up some snowballs. It was really compacted down so had to really dig.

Hand sized snowman

Handed Lucas a snowball

Now what did I tell you..."No throwing snowballs!"
Check out Lucas in the background...looks like a familiar snowball

Me laughing after Lucas took a bite out of it and threw it on the ground. Luckily it wasn't yellow snow.

SNOW!

Mom lovingly got us a hotel so we could stay the night. So the next morning we went to see the beach.

He likes to write big...so what better than the beach to let him go at it

Definitely thought that was neat

Found this all by myself I did

I hope you all get to do some fun Christmas activities!!
