Some more finished quilts

Clint and Jen's new baby girl blanket... I really liked doing this one and I am please with the outcome.

I had some left over scraps and decided to make Big Sister Paiton a baby doll blanket.

This one is for a friend from church. She found out recently she is having girl #3. I was trying out a new way to applique the flowers on and I'm not sure I'm in love with it, but either way it's not too bad.

Drum roll please.....

Hello Kindergarten! We got to meet his teacher, Mrs. Nakasato, on Friday and see where his classroom is. I was just hoping to have a seasoned teacher for him and lucky he's got one. I just thought he would have a better chance at school if it wasn't a newbie teacher. He is today officially 5 years old! I've been so nervous about him actually getting on the bus even though he said he would. I remember getting on the bus and crying the whole way while laying on the floor of the bus holding the bar underneath the seat. I was really hoping it would go that way for him. Luckily we have 2 girls that live next door that go to the same school that rode with him on the bus so it made it that much better. I don't technically think they were supposed to get on the bus as the bus number they told me wasn't the same as Zachary's, but today I was glad for that. He got on the bus with absolutely no crying. He did latch on to my leg for a moment and then raced to get on the bus. He hopped on and waved threw the window and off it went. And in case you are wondering I didn't cry either....

Not quite awake yet

Ready to go

Running down the road to meet the rest of the bus crew

Playing with his new backpack

I'm awake
Playing ring around the stop sign...just completely wired..

And it's off..

Please Heavenly Father help him do OK at school!

The Mini

This week I decided to get my butt back in the gym and hopefully get back to what I was before Lucas. Zachary likes going, but Lucas on the other hand hates it! He's at that age that me leaving just makes him go crazy. On Monday, I ended up getting called back to the kid center, because Lucas wouldn't stop crying. They said he was crying off and on and then finally just wouldn't stop. So on Wednesday we went again and he was a bit better this time. Still crying off and on, but didn't totally start balling until he saw me checking in on him. It was ok though as I was already done. So got me thinking what can I do to hopefully not make him so sad? Then it hit me that I should make him a lovie blankie that he can take with him. My children are very into their blankets. I did have some of that leftover fabric from his car blanket so The Mini was created.

Different backing than original, but scraps are scraps...
His mini is on the left while he chews on the bigger version. Definitely a favorite past time for him.
The Mini is approved!
Hopefully when we go tomorrow it won't be as bad.

Zachary's 'early' 5th Birthday

Zachary's birthday is the day he starts Kindergarten. So this year I really wanted to have the birthday thing done before the craziness of school begins. I really tried to keep it low key this year and sort of succeeded. First off he was able to invite 2 friends to go to Chuck E. Cheese to play and eat pizza. He chose Alyson and a friend from church named Ian. When we walked in Zachary was like it's my birthday! The check in lady gave him a handful of tokens and a birthday sticker. I had a coupon for 1 large pizza, 4 drinks and 100 tokens for $29.99. Of course I had to buy a Chuck E. Cheese birthday crown. They also had prepackaged goodie bags, balloons and Chuck E. Cheese bobble head cups. What a deal! So once I got the tokens they were off to the races. They wondered like mad little children and played just about everything. Coming back so often to eat some pizza and grab a drink. They definitely had lots of fun.

Who wants to go to Chuck E. Cheese....MEEEEEEE!

Off to the races...

OK this must be a sign to come. They look scared with Zachary behind the wheel...

He really likes this air hockey game. Gloating is definitely something to work on...

Chuck E. Cheese came out and started a line dance. As you can see everybody else knew the dance, but these 3.

After the line dancing they threw tickets up in the air. Zachary definitely wanted some.

Picture with Chuck E. Cheese himself =)

There is a game there that you just sit and it draws your picture. Just thought it was kind of cute.

He also got to have Alyson spend the night and get a snow cone on the way home. They watched movies and played till it was too late. The next day we had family come over for cake. He got to pick out his cake from Kroger's this year and was very excited about it. We went to pick it up and he was telling everybody that it was his birthday. So one worker there got on the intercom to announce that it was Zachary's birthday. He was so surprised. Then several other people got on the intercom to wish him Happy Birthday. What fun.

Really was a delicious cake!

All that cash deserved a big hug!

All right more money! He received $35 bucks. The first thing he said that he was going to buy him a bigger bike..ha

And it begins...His own blue remote cover =)

They are playing the Lego Indiana Jones Xbox 360 game courtesy of mom, dad & brother.

The cutest attendee award goes to EMMERS! (a.k.a. Emily)

All in all it was great fun and definitely a memorable birthday.
