Lucas turned 2!

We had a little family birthday party for our once was/never gonna be again baby. Time has flown even quicker with the 2nd one. We decided that it was time for him (and Zachary) to have a little fun outside. So the main thing was a new swingset. Jason slaved away all day to get it up and it looks great. Here are some pictures of the day.

Who doesn't like a balloon? Especially 150 of them!

Hasn't seen that many in one space before...ha. And please notice his most adorable birthday boy shirt! Thanks Martha!

Lucas definitely likes balloons and crazy aunts!

He still hasn't stopped dragging them around!

Success and a little play time for daddy...ha

I see a hurt child in my future..

Getting a little swing action in before cake

Every morning Lucas comes downstairs and says 'watch mickey' so saw this kit at Wal-mart. Anna is the best dessert maker ever! THANKS!
Didn't waste no time digging in

Just thought this was a funny picture...I think he ate like 4 by the end of the day...

Back to the 70's

Zachary had a school dance this last friday. They were asked to dress up in 50's, 60's, 70's or 80's. Zachary seems such a groovy guy that I decided to do a hippie look. I took some old pants and put in inserts to make bell bottoms. I tie dyed a shirt (and a matching one for brother). I even crocheted him a funky vest. I got a little carried away and made a hemp peace sign necklace and hemp wood bead bracelet. He looked total hippie minus the long hair ofcourse. He liked everything except the hemp as it was scratchy. I kind of knew he wouldn't wear it...here is some pictures of him all geared up.

Ofcourse he had to wear his boots with them...ha

For some reason he decided he was going to do the dances or anything. This is all we saw for like 30 mins... He was the only kid not dancing which was so annoying!

Lucas was happy running around the building

Rodeo 2011

I love going to the Rodeo with kids. There is just so much to do and look at... My mom started volunteering at the Rodeo this year and lucky for us she could get us in free!! THANKS MOM! Yippee. Here are pictures from our adventures...

First stop was the petting section. I was really surprised to see kangaroos in there! Boy where they soft..

We went right when they opened so all the animals were hungry which was nice. I just loved this deer. It was just so pretty to me.

They didn't move the whole time we were in there....

They nearly knocked Lucas over, but he didn't seem to mind so much.

Elsie the Borden cow. She looks fake in this picture, but she was real!

After wandering around a lot...it was time for lunch. Lucas was a happy boy with that super long corndog!

And he ate all but a little of it!

Say cheese!

It was really really windy out that day so we were waiting for the wind to die down and finally did. This is what Zachary wanted to ride the moment we got there.

And loved it.

Lucas' first carnival ride...thought it was ok.

John Deere baby! I do think it would be fun to drive one around..ha

Zachary's latest obsession...his cowboy boots! They had a western day at school and some of the kids dressed up in western gear. Since then he has been saying he wants the shoes with the heals on them... So we found him some at the rodeo and let me tell you he wears them everyday!

Last week he told me something funny about them. He said if he wears his boots to school everyday and looks down at them it helps to remind him to be on green! I have to say it does actually work as he has been on green more often than not! Way to go kid!
