Is it October already?

GEEZ. It is October and I have once again failed to update the blog...So here's a bunch all at once.

We got a new cat. Somebody in the neighborhood was asking around to see if it was somebody's kitten. Of course we saw it and fell in love. That brings our total to 4! We are the crazy cat family. Her name was Penny until we realized it wasn't a her so HIS name is Garfield. Sweet cat and lets the kids hold him and drag him around without too much fuss.

I gave the boys a Faux hawk over the summer. Zachary was in love with it, but Lucas wouldn't sit still to let me gel it up half of the time. I really didn't like it on Lucas as it made him look like a punk kid and not my little boy. It's gone now, but maybe next summer...

Wesley is now 7 months old!

Sitting up - check
Crawling - check
Pulling up on furniture - check

Still has no teeth, but what's worse is he pinches! He will just be touching my arm and then PINCH! Oh the joys of motherhood.

Taekwondo

Zachary passed and is now a yellow belt! He tested today and was able to break a board. We are so proud of what he has learned and accomplished this summer. Next up.. second grade.

Waiting for his turn...

All seriousness..

Look how high those kicks are!

He just realized he passed..

Happy as a clam..(whatever that really means..ha)

I broke it!

Master Thomas and the new yellow belt!

All about the 'W'

We are all enamored with Wesley more and more every day. I took him in for his 4 month check up and he is healthy as can be. Didn't gain much weight, but definitely got longer. Since then we have started solid food which I think does make a difference for him. He is waking up in the morning just making noises instead of crying. Just seems to be more all over satisfied. What's not to love about that? Here's a few pictures and a video of that precious giggle!

Zachary thought he wanted to try it...

4th of July fun

I'm sooo behind, but for the 4th of July we decided to catch the fireworks show in The Woodlands. It's close to the house and we didn't feel like doing our own this year so it was a win win. We started with our favorite snow cone hut to get a bit refreshed before hitting the heat.

Rainbow all the way...

Didn't want to pause long enough for a picture...

As we were finding this place to sit we walked past a <Caution: Fall out zone> sign, but can't say that we really understand what that meant until it started...

This is how the boys ended up after the first few minutes. There was big chunks falling every time one went off. I hid with Wesley under the bridge as it was getting in my eyes, but look at the shots Jason got...

The boys thought it was neat to find the 'fall out'

The ones we brought home so when they say fall out they mean FALL OUT!

Potty training has begun. In my opinion it is definitely the worst thing about being a parent. Why can't they just come out potty trained? Anyway, it's been a full week with plenty of accidents, but its working. Lucas now has underoos on all day except at night. He went from kicking and screaming not wanting to go potty and peeing anywhere he chooses to telling me that he has to go and holding long enough to get to the bathroom. There was plenty of times I wanted to abandon ship, but he's not more stubborn than me! He looks soooo cute in underoos! Wesley is almost 4 months now and one of the sweetest things I have ever made! Here are some random pics:

Oh the many faces of Lucas..

Computer hog!

Loves grabbing this ball

Keeps trying to get it in his mouth..

It entertains all...

Look at those hair lines and blue eyes..

The Three Musketeers

We had a little redneck fun going on in the backyard one afternoon when Alyson and Emily came over. They didn't want to do sprinklers so I came up with this..

Water slide...

Kiddie pool (a.k.a. sandbox)

Ta-DA!

Wesley and daddy enjoying the indoors

Not sure what was so fascinating..

Friends for life!!

Summer is definitely starting to burst through with temps in the 100's. We are trying to stay as cool as possible so there is a lot more of early morning/late afternoon activities. Swimming lessons didn't go well as I hoped. We got stormed out more times than we got actual lessons. Zachary and Lucas still had a good time. Zachary jumped right in and learned how to dive to the bottom of the pool. Lucas on the other hand didn't want to have anything to do with the swim teachers. So he just got to play around in the kiddie pool. Well at least he attempted. Zachary also was able to start Taekwondo at our local UMA Taekwondo. He has mixed feelings about it. He loves it and then he doesn't. I hope it changes the longer he does it. I like everything about the 'sport'. It's indoors (ha), they learn self defense moves and they work out really hard the whole entire time. Here is a clip of him and Master Thomas going through the first sequence in order for him to go to yellow belt.

First day

Looks pretty happy to me..
