I want some Llama's!!

This weekend my mom decided to treat me and the boys to a trip to San Antonio. She had bought a super cheap timeshare package a while back and took pity on me and the boys. THANKS MOM! Summer just isn't summer without some sort of vacation, right?! We got there around 4ish. Checked into the hotel which was completely nice. Then rode the trolley downtown to walk down the Riverwalk a bit and see the Alamo. Walking down the Riverwalk with Zachary and Lucas gave me atleast 5 new grey hairs! Needless to say we detoured back above ground quickly. Really wasn't that interesting to them anyhow. Then we walked over to the Alamo. It was nice late at night as not a lot of people were there so I was able to get a picture without people standing around. The next day we went to the Wildlife Ranch and later on took a boat tour down the Riverwalk. Then went to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. Which surprisingly Lucas didn't care too much for the fake moving animals... He totally got scared. So it was a speed eating contest to get out... And now we are back home and with all of our fingers...(oh and Jason couldn't go as he was doing interviews...more on that later).

The Alamo was beautiful at night...

Good thing you can't see their faces...they were a bit tired and grumpy..

The entrance to the Wildlife Ranch. This was the coolest place ever! I want to go back like tomorrow...

A lonely peacock waiting for a snack...

I loved the twisty trees..

Our first look down the road....

It was quite shocking seeing them come right up to your window. This deer-esq thing was gentle as can be.

I think I almost pee'd in my pants at seeing what was coming up next. How freakin' cool!

We weren't in a little car by any means. Really brings into perspective how big this buffalo was.

He really didn't want anything but food....

I loved seeing Lucas look out the window in amazement.

This one totally reminded me of Bambi....beautiful.

This one isn't shy either. Defintitely was ready for some grub..

It didn't scare Lucas to feed it and he was hooked...

The antlers felt like suede. Really pretty.

LONGHORN!!!

He was thinking about it....

Licking his lips...

My mom was trying to roll the food in his mouth to avoid his teeth and just happened to get his tongue up..ha. I couldn't get the full width of those horns. They were so long...

CHEESE!!

He stayed glued to the window the whole time

He bounced from my lap to Nana's.

Full on herds just roaming around

Look at them ears...

It was super picturesque. Love these old trees..

Zebras a little shy at first

Then HELLO!!

Totally hilarious... He opened his mouth and I started chunking. I think most of the food landed inside the car...sorry Mom!

Seriously! How cool...

Profile...I know I've said this before, but really pretty animals..

The most unpredictable animal was these ostriches! I never realized how tall these suckers get. The neck extended well over the top of the car.

CAUTION: EXTREMELY FUNNY STORY
So right as soon as my mom slowed down this fella walked right on up and leaned down and tried to pluck her Diet Dr. Pepper bottle out from between her legs... She quickly snatched her bottle back and had to swat at his beak to get him to stop pecking at her. Totally freaked us all out as he was fast as lightning. We quickly rolled up our windows as he kept trying to peck.. We laughed to so hard tears were rolling down and if you know my mother you know she won't go anywhere without a Diet Dr. Pepper bottle... This picture was taken right after she snatched her bottle back. I soooo wish I got a picture of it in his mouth..HA!

This was the view after the first 'attack'. It was a good thing they were at the end as I don't think Zachary would have fed anymore. Anytime he saw an Ostrich he climbed in the very back where the windows don't roll down...

These donkeys were prettier than I thought they would be. They weren't very tall.

What you got?

They would tip their mouths over like this for you to drop food in their mouths...

And now to my favorite part the Llama's!!! They were sweet and just mosey along.

They looked exactly like any cartoon Llama looks like. I totally want a Llama farm!!!

Super long eyelashes!

Zachary was a little freaked over the top lip being split, but I showed him how soft they were so he wanted to. I didn't even feel the feed being taken from my hand. My next occupation: Llama farmer...is it even called a 'farm'?..

My battery on my camera totally died so I used my phone 3/4 of the way through. We of course went to the gift shop and Zachary wanted a giraffe. I got mom a ostrich so she will remember how fun that was...HA!

Lucas was happy to get some rock candy. It is a definite must to go through this if you are ever in San Antonio!
