Exersaucer fun...

Lucas is getting very sturdy holding himself still & etc. So I decided to whip out the Exersaucer and see what he would do. He actually liked it for the first 20 mins. I just can't believe how quickly it goes by. He is also trying to cut teeth. I know I know you are thinking what at 3 1/2 months, but if he follows in Zachary's path he will have 4 teeth at 4 months. Drool has increased and just today he has started getting fussy and feverish. O boy what fun! Enjoy.

Round and round it goes...

I got it!Ok come and get me!

My thumb is the best thing since white bread!

Pre-4th of July fun & a little bit of Texas

This past week, we were invited to come decorate 4th of July t-shirts at Crista's house. She glued dry pasta to cardboard and then we dipped them in paint. Turned out pretty cute if you ask me.
On that note, Anna's sister Tammy is moving to Utah and I thought I send her off with a little bit of Texas. She will be missed!

Name change and kitten fun...

Ok so when I first thought of the name Pippi I thought it was super cute. However, Zachary and Alyson has helped in the changing of the name idea as they want to say 'PeePee'. So i accidently called Pippi ~ Piper and we decided we liked it better. So the names are Piper and Patches. They both are doing great and not nearly as scared. They have started to roam the rest of the house and stand up to the dogs. Apparently Piper thought it would be a great idea to scale my little ficus tree. She looks a bit freaky..ha ha. Cinder still doesn't want to have anything to do with them, but hopefully she will soon.

Comparisions...

Hello everybody! I hope you are all well. A nice big ole fat break is what I think we all need. I got Lucas' 3 month old pictures taken last week. They just were all too cute! This was the first time going to Target instead of Wal-Mart and I will never go to Wal-mart ever again. It was a hundred times better. Lucas is already starting to hold his head up and putting full on weight on his legs. He's definitely going to be an early walker like Zachary was. Here are some recent pictures of Lucas and some of Zachary at that age. Darn they are both too cute!

Pippi and Patches

Ok seriously we have a farm going on, but there is one thing I can't resist a kitten. Or in this case 2 sister kittens. There was a lady at a gas station holding a "Free Kittens" sign so I had to go look. Sure enough they were calico kittens. I just couldn't take one and leave on behind so I took both. Doh! They were just so cute! When I got home I even woke Zachary up from his nap to show him a surprise! He just loves the kittens. They were a little nervous, but are definitely warming up to us. Pippi (as in Pippi Longstocking) has these 2 carmel colored back feet and the most outgoing one. Patches is more skiddish and hasn't been handled as much. She has a more suddle coloring. At first they just hid underneath our recliner in our bedroom, but now they will come out by themselves when they here us.

Complete a 10K - check!

We did it. I can't tell you how glad I am that it's over...ha ha. My goal for the 10K was just to complete it. In 7 weeks, I did the best I could. I wasn't even sure I was going to be able to run any as the week before I came down with a cough/cold. Come Saturday morning our goal was to run 1 mile and then walk 1 mile until it was finished. I have to say it would have worked wonderful if it didn't have so many dang hills!! Most of the big hills were right there at the beginning. Seriously by the time me and charleen hit 2 mile marker, we were like ok you want to do the 5K instead. We both agreed, but as we kept going we decided we couldn't back out and do the 5K when we signed up for the 10K! If I had to crawl across the finish line, I would. They closed the course in 1 hour and 30 mins so we had to get in before then or pretty dang close. At one point, I was totally going to throw up. I never did though. I don't think I could have done it by myself! THANK YOU CHARLEEN!!! I LOVE YA! YOU ROCK! There was several times she was pulling me up hills and tell me to come on now! I probably walked on and off about a mile and a half and jogged the rest. I made it though!!
Here are the results:

Dr. Doolittle family?

I swear animals are just attracted to us. We are lovers of animals for sure. One night this week, Jason heard some scratching at the door. So to his surprise a turtle was on our doorstep! Just the day before Zachary had found a toad in the backyard and it had become his "best friend". So Jason picked up the good ole box turtle and put it in the backyard so that Zachary could see it in the morning. He is definitely a true boy. When he woke up in the morning I told him about the turtle and off he went trying to find it. He was having a ball carrying it around and protecting it from the dogs. Then all of the sudden he let out this huge screetch and I turned around just in time to see him shaking the turtle off of his finger! The darn thing bit him. I just got done telling him that turtles don't bite... doh! The turtle took a good chunk off of the tip of his finger. In the midst of his crying, he turned to me and said "See I told you he was hungry!" I just died laughing. I couldn't get it to stop bleeding for an hour and a half. I asked him later why did the turtle bite you? He promptly told me he put his finger in his mouth! So go figure. Here are some pictures of him and his "best friends".

Quilt happy

Lately I've been quilt happy. I just always need a project going to make my brain happy. So I made one for pretty Paiton (Jason's step-brother's daughter). I call it 'Paiton's Polka Dots'. Bold and graphic. It definitely was fun to make.

So I couldn't figure out how to bind it, because no pre-made quilt binding matched the pink I used. I just totally thought that it needed a ruffle. So why not make one of my own. Then it just kind of ran into a reverse ruffle so it looks good from all sides. We shipped it Monday so I hope they got it by now and that they like it. =)

Water fun...

Ok so this last weekend we decided to get an above ground pool. The thought of having to take Lucas to the pool so that Zachary could swim really just didn't 'float' well with me. I've got nothing but white little boys who burn just as easy as their dad does. So Jason was looking them up and we found a 12 feet around by 2 feet deep for 79.99! We put the pool up while Zachary was napping so that he could awake to the surprise! Boy was he happy and ready to jump on in with or without a swimming trunks. It turns out it is big enough for mom and dad to float as well. Here are some pictures of the pool time fun...

We celebrated 6 years of marriage on May 24th. My awesome mother watched the kids so that we could go to dinner and a movie. When we came home we saw this:

What a nice way to sleep all snuggled up and warm.... THANKS MOM~WE LOVE YOU~!

On a side note here is me and my sister Charleen acting like we do.....CRAZY!
